pre wedding session, La RÉole

S & L were staying in Cognac visiting their venue La Cannonerie so we decided to meet at a point between where I live and where they were staying and after a bit of research I came upon la réole.

Although it was june, it wasn’t too hot. There was a breeze rustling through the dense leaves of the plane trees lining the lower road along the river. I began to walk up the steep hill to find some suitable spots prior to the arrival of the couple and i came across a construction site - a lot of the main high street had been dug up. oh dear. I would really need to use some creative magic to get some good shots if this is the sort of thing I am going to encounter.

The time approached for the arrival of the couple and as we met i immediately felt that we would get along. Which was just as well as i had to make them walk up the hill into the roadworks. but that didn’t stop us getting some nice shots and taking some video. We were chased away from another site as the tv company were shooting, then when we finally stumbled across somewhere pretty and suitable, we began our filmed interview and a school bell sounded and teens began filing past.

for two people who were not very at ease in front of the camera i think they did a great job. We talked a lot (me probably more than them) and got to know each other ahead of their wedding.
