a pre wedding photo session

Although S & B had already enjoyed a couple of weeks in South West France I was unable to meet with them either at the venue for next year’s wedding or at the coast where these water sport loving couple had been staying.

I asked a local photographer where he would recommend between Biarritz & the Dordogne and he suggested a couple of places amongst which was the village of Pujols which is in the Lot & Garonne. And it was photographic gold.

We met by the Mairie as the light had just begin to lower and soften. Carrying a gimbal and three cameras together with a monopod I must have been quite a sight - I should have brought an (unwilling) assistant (son) to be the pack horse.

Knowing that we only had about two hours left of good light we got cracking. I began filming the couple as they walked towards a photographic spot I had already spotted during a walkabout of the village prior to meeting them. Being fully aware of how weird this must be for them - we just meet, say a quick hello and straight away I give them some directions and pointing cameras their way!

‘JUST ACT NATURAL’

Despite the odd nature of these meetings I do really enjoy meeting a couple before their wedding. I learn things about them and they get to see how I work. We can talk about the wedding or just talk about our lives. It’s one of those wonderful moments when you get to have a really great exchange with someone.

With all the walking and talking I took a small amount of video.
